NC Alliance for Health Announces Race to Quit, NC Campaign
NCAH Members and Partners Urged to Join!
The NC Alliance for Health is pleased to announce that we will be supporting the Race to Quit, NC campaign, which will take place the week of October 5. Race to Quit, NC is a week-long kick-off campaign to promote the importance of and resources for tobacco-use cessation in North Carolina. One of the campaign’s goals is to help the state reduce its high smoking rate of 20.2%, which is higher than the national rate of 18%. The Healthy NC 2020 goal is to reduce the smoking rate to 13%.
Although focused in the Raleigh and Charlotte metro areas, this campaign is statewide. Thus, NCAH is reaching out to you, our committed organizational members and partners, to support this campaign and broaden its reach. No financial contribution is requested. To support the campaign organizations are asked only for permission to use your organization’s logo for campaign materials and for your commitment to distribute quit messages and resources to your networks throughout the week of Oct 5.
For more information about the Race to Quit, NC campaign, please see this one-page description of the effort.
We appreciate all of your efforts to make North Carolina a healthier state and we hope you will join NCAH in supporting this cessation campaign.
