Values
Equity (in all the ways) - NCAH believes that everyone deserves access to an equal opportunity to be healthy. We work to level the playing field with proven measures that move the needle toward health equity for all. In our existing and emerging partnerships, we actively seek feedback to ensure our work is truly equitable, and we engage in conversations that build bridges to encourage partners to view their work through an equity lens. We recognize that achieving equity requires ongoing learning, reflection, and action, and are dedicated to centering equity in everything we do.
Relationship Building - NCAH prioritizes authentic connections with diverse organizations and individuals to foster trust, respect, and a culture of inclusivity and to achieve our mission. We understand that effective relationship building requires openness, vulnerability, and a willingness to listen and learn from one another. We emphasize transparency, encouragement, and collaboration to drive progress. We value curiosity and genuine care for others' concerns, recognizing that meaningful relationships are built on mutual understanding and support.
Health and Healing - NCAH recognizes that promoting equitable health policies requires understanding and addressing the diverse needs of individuals and communities. We prioritize physical, mental, and emotional health, and our efforts to protect and promote health are grounded in the belief that everyone deserves access to an equal opportunity to attain their highest level of health.
Trust Building - NCAH understands that building trust is an ongoing effort that requires dedication and transparency. We prioritize honesty, safety, authenticity, and mutual respect in all our interactions. We are committed to starting conversations to address and heal past wounds by actively listening to diverse groups impacted by our work with a willingness to develop priorities rooted in community. We recognize the importance of being open and honest with our partners and are committed to cultivating an environment where trust is the cornerstone of our collective success.
Inclusivity - NCAH strives to create a welcoming culture where every voice and point of view is heard. We aspire to be an organization where everyone feels empowered to be their authentic selves. We recognize the importance of language in fostering inclusivity, and we are committed to using language that is inclusive and respectful. We acknowledge the challenges of balancing the inclusion of individuals and organizations that hold power with those that have historically been furthest from justice. We are committed to navigating these complexities with sensitivity and intentionality, ensuring that our coalition is representative of the diverse communities we serve.
