2016 NCAH Update

Dear NCAH Members and Partners,

As you all know, our longtime Executive Director, Pam Seamans, has recently resigned. Pam has been an excellent leader of the Alliance for the past thirteen years and she will be missed.

Morgan Wittman Gramann will stay on with NCAH as the Managing Director. She will be working with longtime Alliance partner and trusted advisor Peg O’Connell as Morgan transitions into a permanent leadership role on April 1. Morgan will also be tasked with handling tobacco-related policy matters. We are in the process of interviewing candidates for the Obesity Policy Coordinator position. We hope to fill this position by February 1.

NCAH recently learned that we have been awarded a third year of funding from Voices for Healthy Kids, a project of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the American Heart Association, to continue working towards the passage of HB 250 and the creation of the Healthy Corner Store Initiative.

Thanks to your generosity and support we raised over $10,000 in fundraising last year and our membership renewal process has been going well.

NCAH starts 2016 with tremendous challenges as far as our policy agenda, but organizationally we are strong and are looking forward to working with you all in 2016!

If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to Morgan or myself.

Thank you for your support for the last thirteen years and we look forward to the next thirteen.

Sincerely,

Christine Weason
NCAH Executive Committee Chair
